This captivating pile rug is a unique expression of Beni Ouarain weaving, moving beyond the traditional diamond lattice to embrace a more primitive, storytelling aesthetic. Within these open spaces, the weaver has placed large, floating tribal symbols that resemble ancient cave paintings or totems. These motifs include stylized fibulas (Berber brooches), abstract figures with extended limbs, and geometric arrows, all rendered in the same rich brown tone.
